Josephson joined the faculty of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Newark, in January of 2004 as Director of Women’s Studies and associate professor of political science. She is the author of numerous articles on gender and public policy published in journals such as Perspectives on Politics, Journal of Poverty, New Political Science, Journal of Political Ideologies, and Women & Politics. She authored Gender, Families, and State: Child Support Policy in the United States (Rowman & Littlefield, 1997) and co-edited Fundamental Differences: Feminists Talk Back to Social Conservatives (Rowman & Littlefield 2003) with Cynthia Burack. Also with Cynthia Burack, she attended a Focus on the Family “Love Won Out” conference in 2004, and co-authored a report on the conference for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. A second, revised edition of the volume she co-edited with Sue Tolleson-Rinehart, Gender and American Politics: Women, Men, and the Political Process, was published in 2005 by M.E. Sharpe Publishers. Two major current research projects include a book project that examines privacy, citizenship, and intimate life from the perspective of groups whose privacy claims most frequently have been disparaged and foreclosed, and an ongoing research project on the development of a faith-based community organization in west Texas. link to c.v. |
